Greetings from a sunny Brighton and about time too. We arrived here at Sheepcote Valley CC site on Friday and have had 3 days of grey overcast weather with a smattering of showers but this afternoon the sun finally showed its face for the bank holiday – Yay. Considering we nearly cancelled our booking here thanks to some arsehole and his scare mongering on a MH forum I can happily report that the site is lovely, the wardens are friendly and helpful and the tiny clan of New Age Travellers down the road haven’t been any bother at all so yah boo sucks and bollox to the anti-Caravan Club brigade. You bog off and camp in a layby somewhere cos we’re happy here without you. We have met lots of friendly people – MH’ers and caravanners alike though sadly the stuck up bastards next door in their new Hymer look like they’d rather eat glass than speak to us but I don’t really give a shit. My van may be old but my money’s as good as yours so here’s my butt cheeks – kiss em. Anyway, the main reason for us heading south was my friend’s wedding – a Gothic affair at Brighton Pavillion which was amazing and I’m never attending a normal wedding again as long as I live. We’ve done the usual tourist bits – been on the Brighton big wheel, rode the Volks Railway, perused the Lanes and North Laines. Today we treated the dogs and took them on the bus to Metrodeco a 1930’s style Parisian cafe which allowed dogs inside and also catered for freaks like me by offering gluten-free cake – yummy. The pooches even had a little plate of doggy snacks. How fab is that. The only trouble is now that I have no desire to return to the landlocked Midlands/Leicestershire with its abundance of fat, toothless, mobility scooter riding inbreds and a boggy pitch in a field with crappy loo’s and showers. I want to move down south and soon.
