Freezing in Freiburg

Well I may have had a rant about misleading campsite prices but Freiburg’s town doesn’t disappoint. It’s a bit Olde Worlde with bags of character, lots of winding cobbled streets and some bizarre little canals that run along the pavements.  We had more snow overnight but it thaws quickly and the German’s are organised enough to deal with it, get it cleared and not whinge about how they never expected it to be this bad. Britain take note – it’s not rocket science. I knew you were expecting snow last week so don’t roll out the pathetic excuses every year cos it’s wearing a bit thin. I managed to find 2 Starbucks in town (yes) and a nice assortment of shops to browse – not all shoes and clothes like in Vienna thankfully. The Christmas market lived up to expectations and was brim full of Xmas food and drink, handmade items and festive goodies. Looks like we may stay here a few weeks before heading back into Belgium where hopefully they don’t mind you having your heating on when it’s -8 outside !

About travellingninjas3

Scarlet haired veggie/coeliac/tattooed/charity shop loving rebel sold everything to take to the road with 3 Yorkies in a campervan to discover the meaning of life & blog about it. It all went well for 18 months but then a flippin bloke walked into my life and turned it upside down so now the travelling has come to a halt but I still live in the van but in a field - marvellous :o)
