Don’t believe what you read

Ah part 2 of the ‘my campsite guide is rubbish’ saga. This is what it says about where we are now –

Camping Busek Praha – facilities: Modern sanitary block with clean toilets, hot showers and wash basins. Small restaurant (all year)

The restaurant is in fact closed now and the sanitary block was probably modern when Communism fell but not now. The showers are so bad that they’re good – open cubicles with a shower curtain that doesn’t quite stretch the full width and a hand held shower head with warm water at best. Saying that I shouldn’t be mean as they are clean and this is the Czech Republic where as the ones in Vienna were smelly, vile and skanky and they’re supposed to be posh!  Reading through the reviews of the 2 other sites around Prague which are open, one of them has showers with no doors or curtains ! Heaven forbid, and the other place has basic facilities. We won’t be going there then and really why should we when these have been so helpful. To access the Wi-Fi I have to sit on the open terrace which is interesting when it’s about -2 degrees outside but any internet is better than no internet as I try to sort out a new window for the van – with no help from Autoglass who despite their leaflet saying they will replace any window in your motorhome only do so if it’s glass. How stupid of me to ask! Every time I nip down with laptop in hand the owner (bless him) pops his head out of the door and offers to open the restaurant for me to sit in and makes me a cup of tea! You can’t put a price on hospitality like this.

About travellingninjas3

Scarlet haired veggie/coeliac/tattooed/charity shop loving rebel sold everything to take to the road with 3 Yorkies in a campervan to discover the meaning of life & blog about it. It all went well for 18 months but then a flippin bloke walked into my life and turned it upside down so now the travelling has come to a halt but I still live in the van but in a field - marvellous :o)
